Kenneth W. Hecht
Principal
As the key Principal of the firm, Kenneth W. Hecht is primarily responsible for the identification and evaluation the Company’s acquisitions, the development of the properties, the securing of acquisition and permanent financing and overseeing the leasing of the properties. Ken’s extensive commercial real estate experience includes Property Acquisition, Investment Sales Brokerage, Investment Analysis, Property Management, and Leasing. Ken has been in the commercial real estate business since 1986. Ken’s recent experience has been as founder and President of The Hecht Company, a Retail Brokerage and Development firm founded in August of 2001. The company is dedicated to investing in retail real estate assets with partners, and to serving the brokerage needs of a select number of major retail tenants. Currently the firm is involved in over 4 million square feet of Retail Development. In December of 2006,, Hecht Development was founded in order to further focus on the development of the firm's equity portfolio.
From 1991 to 2001, prior to founding The Hecht Company and then Hecht Development in 2006 , Ken rose to Senior Vice President and Partner at CB Richard Ellis Whittier Partners, the largest commercial real estate services firm in the world. There he founded the Retail Advisory Group which specialized in the sale of large retail investment properties. While at CB Richard Ellis Whittier Partners, Ken sold or leased over $500,000,000 worth of commercial real estate including over $100,000,000 of retail assets. Ken has completed a number of complex joint ventures, 1031 tax-deferred exchanges, long term ground leases, land sales for hotel development and leasehold interest sales. Ken’s largest retail investment sale was $32,000,000. While a partner at CB Richard Ellis Whittier Partners and previously at Coldwell Banker Commercial, Ken received a number of awards including the CB Richard Ellis Whittier Partners Team Player of the Year Award, the CB Richard Ellis Navigator Award for Retail Advisory Excellence, The CB Commercial Rookie of the Year Award for the Northeastern United States, The Coldwell Banker Commercial Top 5 Award, and the Multi-Million Dollar Sales Club Award from the Greater Boston Real Estate Board. Prior to being in the commercial real estate business, Ken had his own time management training company for 3 years with clients which included GTE, National Semi-Conductor, Motorola, John Hancock, Prudential, Mutual of Omaha and Century 21. While running his own company, Ken achieved numerous production awards on a national basis. Prior to the time management business, Ken was an engineer working on high level industrial projects across the country including the construction of a liquid natural gas importation terminal control tower in Everett, Massachusetts, a position that first brought him to Boston from the mid-west.
Ken was born on the south side of Chicago and received his Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana. There he became a member of the Civil Engineering Grade Point Honorary, Chi Epsilon. While moving around the country working on various engineering and construction projects, he also studied for a Masters Degree in Business Administration at Lamar University in Texas, Washington University in St. Louis and at Northeastern University in Boston. Ken has been coaching soccer and baseball for 13 years in Concord, Massachusetts and is currently the strength coach for the Concord-Carlisle High School Wrestling Team.
Ken resides in Concord, Massachusetts with his wife and two children. |

Linda Adams Chateauneuf
Chief Financial Officer
In her role as a Chief Financial Officer at Hecht Development,
Linda is responsible for the implementation of systems within the
Company that will routinely perform financial analysis for all
projects, current and future, for Hecht Development's equity
property portfolio. In addition, Linda will help evaluate
external financial and accounting needs as Hecht Development
continues on its growth path.
Linda joined The Hecht Company in May 2006. Prior to that,
Linda held several positions in finance and business analysis groups in the high tech field, most recently at Hewlett-Packard in the Apollo Workstation Division where she was responsible for the integration of the Apollo financial systems into the Hewlett-Packard financial systems at the time of Apollo’s acquisition by H-P.
Linda graduated with an MBA in Finance from Northeastern University
in Boston, and with a BS degree in Communications from Cornell University. |

Maria Higgins
Senior Counsel
Maria’s role is to advise the company on issues related to its development portfolio, and to provide the essential legal services to facilitate and expedite the business transactions. She is a real estate attorney experienced in all aspects of major commercial transactions, including financing and development, due diligence issues including title and survey, leasing negotiations and documentation, and structuring of complex transactions. She has represented lenders and developers in large commercial loan transactions while practicing with law firms in Boston and also served as in-house counsel for the Banc One subsidiary acting as the FDIC servicer in New Hampshire, resolving and disposing of over $200 million in real estate assets. She received a B.A. in Government from St. Lawrence University and is a cum laude graduate of Boston University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and is a member of the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts and the Real Property Section of the New Hampshire Bar Association. |

Leyla Kimball
In House Counsel
Leyla’s role within the company is to advise on all transactional aspects of commercial real estate such as acquisitions, sales, development, construction and leasing. Prior to joining Hecht Development, she practiced for law firms in both Hartford and Boston and worked in-house for a national shopping center developer in Connecticut as its associate general counsel. Throughout Leyla’s practice she has represented developers and lenders in negotiating and drafting acquisition and construction financing documents. She has also represented both landlords and tenants in commercial lease transactions, drafted and negotiated purchase and sale agreements and option contracts, formed corporate entities, and conducted due diligence. Leyla received her B.S. in Business Administration from Merrimack College, and her J.D. from New England School of Law. She is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and Connecticut, and is a member of the
Connecticut Bar Association. |

Margaret Gauthier
Office Administrator and Accounting Assistant
Margaret's role within the company is to work with the CFO to update
and maintain the financial records for the company. She is also
responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, organization of
the office, office scheduling, computer interfacing and correspondence.
Margaret has worked as an accounting assistant and administrator
assistant for a couple of small businesses. She also worked as a
General Ledger and Cost Accountant for Apollo Computer and Data Checker.
Margaret received a B.S. in Business Administration/Accounting from the
University of Lowell. |

Sarah Mankiewicz
Graphic Design & Marketing
Sarah's role at Hecht Development is to maintain the company
website, brochures, email blasts, and seminar presentations. In
addition, she also creates and updates site maps and aerial graphics for
all marketing materials. Sarah recently joined Hecht Development
as a consultant in 2007.
Prior to joining Hecht Development, Sarah
owned her own graphics company creating websites and graphics for
clients such as Massage and Hair Salons, Fitness Equipment, and Personal
Trainers. She has also worked for major companies such as 3Com Corporation and
Lockheed Martin. Sarah graduated with a BFA in Fine Arts from
Rivier College in Nashua, NH.

John Schonborn
Acquisitions Analyst
As the acquisitions analyst at Hecht Development, John directly
assists the Principal, Ken, in the acquisition of property for the
equity portfolio. His responsibilities include site and financial
analysis of existing retail properties and potential retail development
sites. Prior to joining Hecht Development, John interned with Staubach
Retail Services learning about tenant representation. John received a
B.A. in Economics from Tufts University. |
